Aimco Kisan — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 July 2026  ·  Version 1.0

This Privacy Policy explains how Aimco Pesticides Limited ("Aimco", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data in the Aimco Kisan mobile application ("the App"). We are the Data Fiduciary for your data. This policy is issued in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.

Aimco Kisan is intended for users aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. You confirm you are 18+ when you sign in.

The App's core product catalogue, guides and dose information work fully offline and do not require any personal data.

3. Why we use your data (purposes)

Our legal basis for processing is your consent, which you give in the App and can withdraw at any time. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How we store and protect it

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) in Google's Mumbai, India data region. Access is restricted to your own account: security rules allow only you (your authenticated account) to read or write your record. We apply reasonable technical and organisational security safeguards to protect your data.

5. AI assistant (Dr. Dave)

When you use Dr. Dave online, the question you type is sent to Google's Gemini AI service to generate an answer. Your saved profile details (name, address, land, crops, retailer) are not included in these requests. AI-generated advice can be wrong — always read and follow the product label. If you are offline, Dr. Dave answers only from the catalogue bundled in the App.

5A. Anonymous question statistics

To understand which crop problems farmers face in which parts of India, and to improve the App, we keep an anonymous count of the topics people ask about. When your question matches a pest, disease, weed or crop in our catalogue, we record only that item (for example "Brown plant hopper", "Rice") together with your State/UT and app language.

We do not store the words you typed, and this record is not linked to you — it contains no name, mobile number, village, PIN code or account identifier, so it cannot be traced back to you or combined with your profile. It is used only as an aggregate statistic (for example, "120 questions about stem borer in West Bengal this month"). These records cannot be read by any app user, including you, because they are not associated with any account.

6. Sharing and processors

We share data only with processors who help us run the App under contract, currently Google (Firebase and the Gemini AI service). We do not share your data with any other third party except where required by law. Where data is processed outside India, it is only with providers permitted under the DPDP Act.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete your account or withdraw your consent. When you withdraw consent, the optional details you shared are erased. When you delete your account, your account and associated personal data are removed.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

9. Data breach

In the event of a personal-data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required by the DPDP Act and Rules.

10. Grievance / contact

Data-protection point of contact: aimco@aimcopesticides.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified in the App, and where the law requires, we will ask for your consent again. The version and effective date at the top show the current policy.
